You may know something needs to change,
even if you're not sure exactly what.

  • You may feel stuck

You know what you “should” do or what you don’t want, but keep finding yourself in the same patterns.

  • You may overthink

Worry, self-doubt, second-guessing, or trying to anticipate every possible outcome makes it hard to feel at ease.

  • You may want something to change

You're looking for more than insight — you want practical ways to respond differently and move forward.

You don't have to wait until things become unmanageable.

  • Sometimes, finding space to understand what's happening can help you make meaningful changes sooner.

What is therapy actually like?

Therapy at Middle Path is active and collaborative.

We'll develop a practical approach around what matters most to you, your goals, circumstances, and pace.

Some sessions may involve stepping back to understand where a pattern comes from; others may focus on a situation you’re dealing with right now or a skill you want to practice.

We’ll adjust our work as your needs and goals evolve.

We'll explore the thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and relationship patterns that may be keeping you stuck.

Understand what's happening

You'll develop strategies you can use in your relationships, work, and everyday life.

Build practical skills

You’ll practice new ways of responding and build confidence in handling challenges on your own.

So you can become your own therapist.

Make changes that last

You don't have to have everything figured out before you begin.

We'll figure out where to start together.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is the primary approach, with strategies from DBT, ACT, and mindfulness incorporated when appropriate.
These treatment approaches provide a framework — not a script — and will ultimately be tailored to your needs.

“I feel less anxious and confused now, and more able to cope on my own.”

— Y. C.

“I’m much more aware of my feelings, needs, and goals as things are happening. I’ve noticed improvements and less stress in my relationship.”

Meet Dr. Thompson

I'm a Columbia-trained clinical psychologist with more than a decade of experience providing CBT to adults who may appear to have it all together while privately feeling that something isn’t quite working.

My approach combines clinical expertise with warmth, curiosity, and practical skill-building. I create a space where you can be honest about what's difficult while leaving each session with a clearer understanding of what you can do next.
